Reapers Melody — Lullaby

Installation · Lullaby · The running theme · Sound · Textile · Soft sculpture · 2024

Lullaby is an immersive installation that weaves together sound, textile, and soft sculpture to create a space of intimate listening. The work explores how lullabies travel across generations — carrying trauma, comfort, and the residue of languages that are no longer spoken.

Suspended fabric forms pulse with embedded speakers playing fragmented melodies collected from interviews with mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers. The softness is deliberate — an invitation to lower one's guard, to remember, to grieve, to rest.

The installation asks: what happens to a lullaby when there is no one left to sing it? Can a song become a place — a temporary home for displaced memory?
